An alert was issued by the Montgomery County Department of Police on Friday as they seek the public's assistance in identifying and locating a woman wanted for an assault and robbery last month on a Metro bus.

In the afternoon of Thursday, March 7, police say that officers were called to the area of Dawson Avenue and Georgia Avenue to investigate a reported altercation that turned physical, police say.

According to investigators, shortly before 3:45 p.m. on the day of the robbery, the victim was on a Metro bus when the wanted woman came on board. 

There was an altercation between the two, at which point the woman assaulted her victim, grabbed their cell phone, and smashed it on the floor.

Following the commotion, police say that the bus stopped in the area of Dawson and Georgia Avenue, where the victim ran off the bus.

On Friday, surveillance photos were released by the department of the wanted woman, who was described as being a Hispanic woman who is approximately 20 years old. She is 5-foot-9 with a thin build, and was wearing a black jumpsuit, black leggings and black socks with designs of hearts and lips on them at the time of the incident.
